Minimal table t-01
Furniture Project
Focusing on the morning procedure of waking up and getting the first steps out of the cosy environment of the bed. If we look closer at the this first step of the day, we see the moment when the human feet sole touches the ground. An instable move of flexible parts of the body. The distribution of forces is not yet aligned, but it has a direction to conclude in a stable manner. This table reflects the space appropriating with the minimum amount of gesture combined with the maximum of geometric definition of the structure. The table plate is cut out of 1mm thin steel sheet, where the surface is laped in a raw criss cross layered pattern to allow the materi- al to show its light reflecting qualities in symbiosis with the morning sun. The edges are bevelled to ensure a injury free handling. The loadbearing structure is realised in welded 5 mm rustfree steel tubes, of which the joints are not polished but left at the tem- per color, to show the static and the skills of the craftsman.
